Meta also tests other income producing tools for Facebook groups, according to Reuters, including the ability to access exclusive content that is locked behind Paywall. The test occurs amid a wider boost in the social media industry to implement a variety of subscription-based models, including paid bulletin features available for Twitter users.
The payment model will involve direct payments through “custom links” posted by group makers, according to Meta, which are similar to the relatively new Twitter tip feature. The Creator of the Group will also be able to carry out fundraising and sell merchandise.
Meta also plans to launch the Facebook group adjustment option to the creator, the admin meaning will be able to adjust the group display to more in line with the audience in particular. In addition, the Facebook group will also offer the ability to reward posts, reflect the similar features offered on Reddit.
